100 Layer Cake: Dark Woodland Vintage Wedding Inspiration

It's been so hard to keep these photos to ourselves for what seems like so long, although it's only been about two months since we wrapped this shoot, and even less than that since we got the incredible news that the incomparable 100 Layer Cake would be featuring our work.

But today is the day that we're finally allowed our excited giggles, squeals and social media posts that I'm sure will be flooding onto feeds in no time from myself, Jessie, Dylan, Love Cakes, Party Pieces By Perry, and everyone else that came together to make this idea a reality.

Jessie Schultz contacted me to see if I'd be interested in doing a styled shoot with her. I've done several of these in the past as fun ways to try something different, either with friends or people who would become friends, so I was open to the idea, and when Jessie explained her vision and ideas for a dark color palette, I knew I wanted to be part of it.

Jessie explained that the whole idea of the shoot basically came from her seeing the vintage burgundy furniture by Party Pieces by Perry, which got the wheels turning and evolved into what she described as a dark and mysterious styled shoot in the woods with a heavy influence of deep burgundies to compliment the vintage furniture and accents.

She'd picked an A-List selection of vendors who were all incredibly fun and easy to work with, each talented beyond words in their selected fields. We met in Ronald W. Casper's Wilderness Park in the early afternoon and quickly began to bring all of our individual work together to create Jessie's unified vision.

After set up, Jessie's friends showed up to be photographed in the day's waning light. It was a great experience meeting and working with new people, all of whom were very helpful, patient and fun to be around. I'd like to thank Jessie and Dylan for including me in this shoot and 100 Layer Cake for featuring this shoot. It's such a thrill!
